My Story
When I was a child, learning to read, spell, or do math was like learning a foreign language. However, if given a box of crayons and a piece of paper, I could deliver a praiseworthy drawing.
​
​ My world changed in elementary school with the magnificent library on wheels, the Bookmobile. I remember climbing up the stairs into the giant bus, and my heart raced to see so many colorful books lining the shelves. That's when I met Nancy Drew, and I was hooked on reading mysteries. Although learning got increasingly more difficult for me, when I read a mystery, the story took me to another place, and I devoured the pages with ease.
